EASY STEPS TO GET YOU STARTED

1.  APPLY

This is best done by the AVIS Service Center after you are counseled on which license you will need for your business.  Your application is then prepared and submitted to the Contractors State License Board requesting an exam date. 

2.  PREPARE FOR THE EXAM

You must pass an exam on Law and on your Trade classification.  AVIS provides all the materials necessary to pass the exam including video and audio cassettes, study guides and practice exams. 

3.  PASS THE TEST

You'll have 21/2 hours for each portion of the Contractor's exam.  Pass it then AVIS can have your bond and state paperwork ready to be submitted to the Contractor's Board the same day. 

4.  JOBS

As a Licensed Contractor you'll be able to bid on the many larger jobs available in your area.  You wil be able to advertise.
